FAQ Support

Q: Why don't MIDI files sound as good as the live PC Drummer

or exported wav files?

A: Midi files sound worse because they only store limited

information like what instrument code when and at what

volume. It is up to the midi player program to use it's own

instrument sounds. The original unique "sound" is lost.  Wav files

are much larger and contain digital samples similar to a CD or

MP3. The actual sound is better preserved.

Q: Why am I missing instruments from my Pro version drum

kit?

A: The slots are available for adding your own sounds. They map

to the standard MIDI set. You can download the full MIDI

instrument drum kit for free   provided by PC Drummer.

Q: Are there a way to get additional ready-made song files or

drum kits?

A: Drum Kits are available via our accessories section provided

by Sun Coast Designs.

Q: I've downloaded the Midi kit, how do I use it?

A: After downloading the Midi kit, run it to extract the file

"midi.kit". If the extraction doesn't move the file to the PC

Drummer folder, then move the file to the PC Drummer folder.

(usually Program Files\PC Drummer) Run PC Drummer, go to

the instruments screen and select the Midi.kit. (Ctrl + K)

Q: What is the advantage of having different drum kits?

A: The theory with the drum kits is that you can have the same

instruments in different kits and switch the kits for a different

sound. For instance, an acoustic/electric version of the same

song or having a different professional drummer with his own kit.
